For vinyl lovers, the SweetVinyl SugarCube SC-2 Plus non-destructive noise-removal device is like an sonic eraser that improves the sound of old LPs. Plus, it invites you to make clean digital recordings. Though it sounds impossible, SugarCube SC-2 Plus lets you take an old, used vinyl pressing and play it back without noise, sonic degradation, or any added sonic signature. Its sophisticated algorithm detects, isolates, and removes only the unwanted noise, and leave the original musical signal completely unscathed.
This real-time, integrated noise-removal platform adds SweetVinyl's Surface Noise Reduction 2.0 software (SVNR) to all the technology and features of SC-2, along with an improved A/D-D/A subsystem, more refined analog path, enhanced power supply, and variety of digital interfaces. It also records digitally, providing automatic LP metadata identification and tagging, track splitting, and recording data to a connected storage device.
From a connectivity and functionality angle, the rear panel features a USB-B port that connects to a personal computer or music server and functions as a stand-alone ADC/DAC (with or without noise removal). It also features TOSLINK and SPDIF; USB-A digital outputs to connect to an external DAC; gold-plated RCA connectors; and RJ45 Ethernet. The front panel allows full control of the basic functions with push buttons and a pairing function; an LCD display provides the status. iOS and Android apps, as well as a web interface, provide complete remote control of Click & Pop removal and SVNR reduction, as well as Analog Bypass.
When used as an ADC/DAC with a personal computer, SC-2 Plus can use Click & Pop/SVNR functions after the ADC, or before the DAC (or none at all.
