Take Your Music to a Higher Plane: Roon-Tested McIntosh MDA200 D/A Converter Supports Native DSD512 and 384kHz DSD, Includes HDMI ARC Connectivity
Step up your high-resolution audio game with the McIntosh MDA200 DAC. McIntosh quality through and through, this Roon-tested outboard converter is fueled by the company’s DA2 Digital Audio Module — a technical breakthrough powered by a Quad Balanced, eight-channel, 32-bit DAC. Coupled with a USB input that supports native playback up to DSD512 and 384kHz DSD, MDA200 renders music with full-range dynamics, exquisite detail, ultra-low distortion, and involving emotionalism. And because the 13.5-pound unit comes with an HDMI ARC input, you can also enjoy the same fidelity when watching a concert, film, sports, or show. MDA200 even supports multichannel DTS and Dolby formats, and converts them to two-channel audio for seamless performance.
Such flexibility extends to its pairs of balanced and unbalanced outputs and no fewer than seven digital inputs, including an MCT connection for use with McIntosh MCT Series disc players. Variable and fixed output modes for volume also give you options for control and setup. If you use variable mode, you connect MDA200 straight to a power amplifier in a digital-only system without needing a preamplifier. Equally cool, the DA2 can be replaced in the future in the event new formats emerge — protecting your overall investment in MDA200.
The sleek, clean exterior of MDA200 is signature McIntosh: Black glass faceplate, illuminated green logo, rotary knobs, custom-machined aluminum end caps. Inputs and outputs for data, power control, IR sensor, and RS232 control grace the back panel. Measuring a svelte 3.875 x 17.5 x 15.6875 inches (HWD), MDA200 comes with a remote control and three-year manufacturer warranty.
