Stereophile Class C Recommended Ortofon 2M Blue MM Phono Cartridge Features User-Replaceable Elliptical Diamond Stylus, Plays with Openness and Balance The Stereophile Class C Recommended Ortofon 2M Blue uses the same structures as its award-winning sibling 2M Red, but adds an upgrade in the form of a highly polished nude-elliptical stylus for better tracking and quieter reproduction.

In addition to enhanced resolution and openness, it reaches deeper into your records' grooves. Balanced, controlled, and smooth, 2M Blue remains one of the biggest analog values on the planet.

Like all 2M Series cartridges, 2M Blue is easy to install via pre-threaded mounts and fits nearly any tonearm/turntable combination around. It features trademark split pole pins, an invention which enables moving magnet cartridges to have flat frequency response, just like a moving coil cartridge.

Ortofon invented the split pole pin technology, which was originally offered in the 500 series and Super OM Series. 2M Series is developed in conjunction with designer Møller Jensen Design.

Inspired by the facets of a diamond, whose contours gracefully trace the grooves on a record’s surface, the handsome elegance of the 2M Series establishes a great combination of form and functionality. “Superb transient articulation and dynamics.” —Stereophile, Class C Recommended Component "It's well-built, easy to install – thanks to its pre-threaded mounts – and, with a healthy output, offers a clear and open presentation with plenty of bite." —Hi-Fi Choice
